Dr. Violet Ehiem-Negrón, OD

Dr. Violet Ehiem-Negrón has been with Eye Associates of South Texas since November 2017. She was born and raised in the North Dallas area. She graduated from the University of Houston with an undergraduate Kinesiology Exercise Science degree.

Her desire to help others led her to become an optometrist when attending the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry (UIWRSO). While completing her doctorate of optometry, she experienced clinical rotations at the San Antonio Veterans Affairs Medical Center (SAVAMC) and at a private medical practice. While still an optometry school student, she was the president of the Low Vision Rehabilitation Club, a committee chair member for the National Optometrist Society Association, and an active member in the Volunteer Optometrist Service to Humanity. Dr. Ehiem was awarded both the UIWRSO Service Award 2013-2014 and UIWRSO Mission Award 2014-2015.

She enjoyed her rotation at the SAVAMC so much that she went on to complete a residency in Primary Care and Ocular Disease through the New Jersey Veteran’s Affair’s Medical Center. During her residency she diagnosed and managed an array of ocular conditions ranging from corneal conditions, glaucoma, cataracts, and retinal diseases. She is a member of the Texas Optometry Association and the American Optometric Association.

As an Eye Associates of South Texas provider, she enjoys the aspect of being able to bond with her patients. Providing clearer sight for others is a priority.
When she is away from the office, Dr. Ehiem -Negrón enjoys staying active by working out, volunteering, watching movies, traveling, exploring the city, and being with her wonderful husband, family, and friends.
