Yuliana Alanis, OD

Dr. Yuliana Alanis was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She received her bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She then attended the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry and graduated with her Doctor of Optometry degree.  Dr. Alanis gained experience in multiple areas of Optometry through her external rotations including a private practice in Houston specializing in specialty contact lenses and Orthokeratology, University of the Incarnate Word vision therapy clinic, and a private practice in Louisiana where she was trained in the diagnosis and management of retinopathy, glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, foreign body removal, and dry eye syndrome. She also acquired advanced  skills in scleral contact lens fitting while practicing at private practice in San Antonio.

Dr. Alanis is licensed by the Texas Optometry Board as a therapeutic optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist. She is fluent in Spanish. Dr. Alanis provides routine eye care, fits contact lenses on both children and adults, surgical co-management, and manages eye diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic eye exams, macular degeneration, and dry eye. She is experienced is managing corneal and anterior segment cases with specialty rigid and soft gas permeable contact lenses such as keratoconus, keratoplasty, trauma, and graft versus host disease.

In her spare time, Dr. Alanis enjoys spending time with her 2 dogs, running, and traveling.
