Advanced 3 Dimensional Imaging
This allows your surgeon to calculate with incredible precision your individual surgical treatment plan. With Laser Precision our surgeons use laser technology to create perfect incisions that include a circular opening in the lens capsule to access and remove the cataract during the first step of your laser cataract procedure. An accurate incision helps your eye surgeon to position your new intraocular lens exactly where it is intended for the best post operative vision.
Laser cataract surgery is an extremely gentle way to remove your cataract. Your surgeon will use the laser to soften the natural lens to remove it more easily than in traditional cataract surgery, this helps to efficiently remove the hard cataract from your eye. This process requires less energy in the eye than traditional methods that make it possible to recover more quickly in some cases.
What is ORA (Optiwave Refractive Analysis)
Improved accuracy with ORA scans
When you have cataract surgery we will remove your cloudy lens and replace it with a clear artificial lens implant . This implant has a customized “prescription” for correcting your vision. Your surgeon may perform an ORA scan during surgery to accurately select the correct lens for your eye. ORA is sometimes called “SMART VISION” it stands for Optiwave Refractive Analysis. To be able to choose the right artificial lens implant for your eye, the ORA scan is extremely important. Whether you are nearsighted, farsighted and/or astigmatism, the ORA allows your surgeon to select the best lens for correcting your vision. ORA has been found to give us the best cataract surgery results.
The benefits of using ORA include:
• Lens power confirmation and optimization
• Proper lens orientation
• Eliminate as many refractive errors as possible during surgery
• Increased chances of being less dependent on glasses or remote vision contact lenses
• Customized enhanced visual results for you
